Rocket propels a red flare attached to a parachute to 300m and burns for 40 seconds. SOLAS requires that 12 rockets are carried on Ships Bridge and 4 rockets are fitted in liferafts and lifeboats. Also used by leisure craft.

It is automatically or manually deployed to mark the position of a person in the water by day or night. Featuring a self-activated LED lighting system which exceeds SOLAS requirements for 2 candela light output and 2 hours duration, plus providing 15 minutes of dense orange smoke. Ships are required to fit at least two markers.

15 Minute Smoke Signal

This version is required for USA and Japanese flag vessels. One is required to be mounted on each bridge wing in its steel bracket. It can be positioned up to 60m above sea level (SOLAS only requires 30m). Automatically deployed on release of the attached lifebuoy. Can also be manually deployed.

Mounted in its steel bracket on each bridge wing attached to a lifebuoy. Signal can be mounted up to 56m above sea level. (SOLAS only requires>30m). Produces dense orange smoke for 15 minutes and 2 LED lights burn at 2 candela for 2 hours minimum. Signals location of a man overboard by day or night.

Order code: SOLAS / USCG Approved Product Self-contained linethrowing appliance. Plastic launcher with 250m of 4mm dia line. Needs to be fitted with 9162700 rocket prior to use. Typically 4 units required to be carried on SOLAS vessels. Replace container along with every third set of rockets i.e. after 9 years. Non-hazardous for transport without rocket fitted.
